That's why Dalarnas EKO's low-temperature methods are so unique.
Most hair and skin care products on the market are made in factories where standardized recipes and high temperatures are used to save time and money. The problem? When ingredients are heated too much, they often lose their most valuable properties. Important antioxidants, vitamins, and active botanicals are destroyed – and what’s left is a product that may smell good, but doesn’t make a real difference to your skin and hair.
At Dalarnas EKO we do the opposite. Our recipes are developed by ourselves, and each product has been tested for several years before reaching the market. Our focus is on results – not promises that something can work, but products that actually provide noticeable effects, even in our Nordic climate that puts hair and skin to the test.
Low-temperature methods that preserve nutrients
We have developed a unique low-temperature method where the raw materials are handled carefully from start to finish.
-
Cold-pressed oils and extracts retain their natural antioxidants, fatty acids and vitamins. Unlike refined oils, where heating destroys important substances, cold-pressing is a gentle method that allows the raw material to retain its full nutritional profile.
-
Only what needs heat is heated – and then to exactly the temperature required for it to be functional, but no more. This means that the active properties of the ingredients are preserved.
-
The science behind : Many plant substances are heat-sensitive. For example, vitamin C, polyphenols and enzymes can start to break down as early as 40–60°C. By working in a controlled manner at low temperatures, we ensure that the sensitive substances are not lost. The result is a product that is both more nutritious and more effective.
More than just our own manufacturing
Many brands today highlight that they “manufacture themselves” in their own factories. This is of course positive – but it does not automatically mean that the products are produced with care or that the raw materials are handled correctly. To truly preserve the potential of a raw material, in-depth knowledge of each ingredient is required – how it reacts to heat, how it interacts with other substances and at what point its nutritional value risks being lost.
This is where we differ. Our manufacturing combines practical experience, hairdressing knowledge and scientific know-how. This means that our recipes are not just “ours” – they are developed in a way that maximizes the effect on hair and skin.
Not mass-produced – but tailor-made
We don't buy ready-made bulk products or "universal recipes" that just change labels between different brands. Each product is developed from scratch by us, in close collaboration with both hairdressers and chemists. Our shampoo bars, skincare products and oils are designed to work in real life - on real hair, on real skin, in our real climate.
This is a crucial difference:
-
Mass production pushes volumes but compromises nutrition.
-
"Just making it yourself" is not enough - knowledge about the raw materials determines the result.
-
We never compromise – we let time, knowledge and careful manufacturing decide.
Results that are felt
The Swedish climate is a challenge for both skin and hair – cold winters, dry indoor environments and rapid temperature changes mean that much of what works on paper doesn’t hold up in reality. That’s why we never settle for “good ingredients” in theory. Our products are tested for years, on ourselves and others, to ensure that they deliver real results in everyday life.
We don't want to deliver something that “might work.” We want to deliver what actually works.
Dalarna EKO's promise:
Always raw materials in their most powerful form.
Always recipes developed from scratch.
Always products that are made to really make a difference.
🔬 3 scientific facts about low-temperature manufacturing
-
Vitamins are destroyed by heat
Vitamin C and several B vitamins begin to lose their effect at 40–60°C. When raw materials are handled at low temperatures, their natural antioxidant protection is preserved. -
Fatty acids oxidize faster at high temperatures
Omega 3, 6 and 9 are sensitive fatty acids that easily oxidize at too high temperatures. Low-temperature methods help maintain their moisturizing and repairing properties. -
Polyphenols and enzymes require careful handling
Plant substances such as polyphenols and enzymes are important for skin and scalp balance, but are extremely heat sensitive. By controlling the temperature, you can ensure that they are still active in the final product.
