Many hair and skincare products on the market are manufactured in factories where standardized recipes and high temperatures are used to save time and money.
The problem? When raw ingredients are heated too much, they often lose their most valuable properties. Important antioxidants, vitamins, and active plant compounds break down – and what remains is a product that might smell nice, but doesn't make a real difference for skin and hair.
At Dalarnas EKO, we do the opposite. Our recipes are developed by us, and each product has been tested for several years before reaching the market. Our focus is on results – not promises that something might work, but products that actually deliver noticeable effects, even in our Nordic climate, which puts hair and skin to the test.
Low-temperature methods that preserve nutrients
We have developed a unique low-temperature method where raw ingredients are handled gently from start to finish.

Cold-pressed oils and extracts retain their natural antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamins. Unlike refined oils, where heating destroys important substances, cold-pressing is a gentle method that allows the raw ingredient to maintain its full nutritional profile.

Only what needs heat is heated – and then to precisely the temperature required for it to be functional, but no more. This means that the active properties of the ingredients are preserved.

The science behind it: Many plant compounds are heat-sensitive. For example, vitamin C, polyphenols, and enzymes can start to break down already at 40–60°C. By working carefully at low temperatures, we ensure that sensitive substances are not lost. The result is a product that is both more nutritious and more effective.
More than just in-house manufacturing
Many brands today emphasize that they "manufacture themselves" in their own factories. This is certainly positive – but it does not automatically mean that the products are gently produced or that the raw materials are handled correctly. To truly preserve the potential of a raw ingredient, deep knowledge of each ingredient is required – how it reacts to heat, how it interacts with other substances, and at what point its nutritional value risks being lost.
This is where we differ. Our manufacturing combines practical experience, hairdressing expertise, and scientific knowledge. This means that our recipes are not just "our own" – they are developed in a way that maximizes their effect on hair and skin.

We do not buy ready-made bulk products or "universal recipes" that merely change labels between different brands. Every product is developed from scratch by us, in close collaboration with both hairdressers and chemists. Our shampoo bars, skincare products, and oils are designed to work in reality – on real hair, on real skin, in our real climate.

Vitamins degrade with heat
Vitamin C and several B vitamins begin to lose their effectiveness at just 40–60°C. When raw ingredients are handled at low temperatures, their natural antioxidant protection is preserved. -
