Blue indigo is a natural plant dye that can be used in many different ways in cold process soap.

Our indigo powder has a very high natural color concentration of 6.2% and is by far the strongest dye with low dosage. The higher the color content, the deeper blue the color of your soap.


Indigo can be added to the soap in many different ways for varying results 


DIFFERENT METHODS

• Indigo directly into the soap batter - gives a grayish-blue color

• Indigo in hot lye water - gives a darker blue color

• Oil infusion - add the indigo powder to oil over low heat (preferably in a crockpot) and let it steep for several hours, then use the oil for the soap

We suggest you try all three methods to see which one you like best!


IN SOAP: Gives a durable and sharp indigo-blue color
DOSAGE: 1-2 tsp per kilo of soap, more can be added for desired color.
